Indiana schools must have a plan to administer statewide assessments online using the Indiana Secure Browser and an officially-supported device and operating system. All officially-supported systems have completed full compatibility testing with the Secure Browser. As updates to an operating system can affect the performance of the Secure Browser, schools should refrain from updating their devices before CAI completes full compatibility testing, which can take up to 90 days.
The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) and Cambium Assessment, Inc. (CAI) will perform unofficial, initial compatibility testing within three weeks of operating system updates throughout the 2022-2023 school year. IDOE may designate an update as “allowed for choice” before formal compatibility testing is complete. Operating system updates that are ”allowed for choice” may be used by schools with the understanding that undiscovered issues or abnormal behavior may occur while using the Secure Browser.
Refer to the Supported Devices webpage for the most minimum officially-supported devices and operating systems and/or the Operating Systems Allowed for Choice webpage for operating system updates that currently have this designation.
